Community noise involves environmental noise measurements to meet regulatory requirements of a noise ordinance and to evaluate noise impact assessment. The noise of interest is typically transportation noise, industrial noise including blast noise, warning systems, construction noise or a local nuisance. Community noise is typically solved by the reduction of the noise and vibration at the source or installing a noise barrier between the source and the community. Building acoustics may involve a wide range of issues including
exterior noise and vibration from nearby transportation or construction
or interior generated noise from HVAC systems or other mechanical
devices. There are available a large range of sound and vibration
solutions incorporated into the construction of buildings including
improved sound isolation, sound absorption, vibration isolation,
vibration damping and HVAC silencing. |
